I'm a Mac user; why can’t I view my eStatement?
Mac's want to use an application called Preview as a default to open pdf files. The application Preview cannot decrypt eStatements.
The easy solution is to save the eStatement file to the desktop or in a folder. Then open up the application Adobe Acrobat Reader. This can be found in the Applications folder. It can also be downloaded here. Open up Adobe Acrobat Reader. Go to FILE>OPEN and find statement on the desktop or folder. Select the file. The password box should appear.
Your case-sensitive password (normally ALL CAPS) is required to open the attachment. The default password is the FIRST 5 CHARACTERS OF YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AND THE LAST FOUR NUMBERS OF YOUR SSN OR BUSINESS TAX ID unless you have requested modification. Include any '.' periods, '_' underscores, or '@' or other symbols that may occur in the first 5 characters.
