Certificates of Deposit provide an excellent, low cost option for maximizing returns on HSA reserve deposits while limiting risk. CDs require a minimum deposit of $1,000.00, and can be opened for periods of three months to five years.

Individuals selecting this option must indicate their desired CD term in the Account Application Document. The rate paid will be the rate in effect upon receipt of the completed Health Savings Account Application by American Chartered Bank. Certificates of Deposits are transaction restricted and penalties are applicable for early withdrawals.
